Pop out

28 WEEKS

This dress sure makes me look BIG!  But it's so comfy.  Here's my belly update that I haven't done in awhile.  But I am officially in my 3rd trimester!  Yay!  I'm getting closer, and couldn't get more anxious. Thanks everyone for you advice on baby 'stuff.'  I need it all.  It's good to hear what works for you.  I am slowly creating my registry, buying and assembling the nursery. How exciting! What's ALSO exciting is that I don't have too many more weeks of work left.  I am ecstatically awaiting my last day of work.  Not sure what day it will be, but it is SOON coming!
Paxton is still busy studying for his CPA exams.  Some day he will be done with those and I can have more time with him.  Sometimes it feels like his work and the CPA exam owns him.  Good thing he's timed it right where he should be done with all the exams by November.  He can then spend more time with me and the baby.
Speaking of the baby- why is it SO HARD to decide on a name for this little guy? When we know it's going to be permanent and not just something to dream about, it's a lot of a harder decision to make.  It's actually getting a little annoying. I just wanna know what we're naming him and be done with it.  At some point, we'll HAVE to decide. Let's hope it's sooner than later.

Bedding and Vacation

We found our baby bedding!!

These are the pictures of the ad from which we purchased.  We found it on Craigslist!  It's brand new, and custom made.  The girl I bought it from thought she was having a boy, but found out later it was a girl, so she bought different bedding- SO- this is new!  The lady SHE bought it from makes bedding and sells it at Canton- a HUGE flea market here in East Texas.  I got it for a killer deal!  We are so excited.  Our crib is a dark cherry wood-- not this light colored crib in the pictures.  Paxton is assembling the crib as we speak, then I can get the bedding on there!

We got back last night from a week long vacation in Idaho & Utah visiting my family!  It was a much needed and very enjoyable, relaxing vacation!
I left Saturday morning and flew to Boise arriving around 3pm.  At the beginning it was just supposed to be MY trip home to ID/UT, but 3 hours after I arrived in Boise, my sweet husband showed up knocking at my sister's doorstep!!  I was THRILLED!  It was the biggest surprise and I was so happy he was going to be spending my vacation with me!  He is so sneaky.  Before I had left, he kept saying- What am I gonna do without you for a week? and he talked about his plans and stuff.. just totally deceiving me.  It was a good surprise.
So we stayed in Boise for a few days with Anjeannette and visited my bro-Luke and kids who I hadn't seen in a couple years!  My mom met us in Boise Sunday night and then Tuesday morning drove us to Idaho Falls-HOME!  We got to visit my other brothers there and my parents-of course.  Friday morning we left for Utah and visited temple square and the conference center, got to see an old roomie-Jamie- then met up with family the rest of the time.  I brought a pattern for the purse/bag that I've made before and I helped all my cute nieces sew their own purses!  That's basically all we did Saturday- it took a long time instructing the girls, cutting & sewing 4 purses!!  But they turned out super cute!  It was a really relaxing vacation.  Not a whole lot planned, but a lot of sitting and laying around and watching movies and chatting.  We had a great time.  By the time we got home, we were so tired we hit the sack at 9pm. It was really hard to wake up Monday morning to go to work!  Ugh.  BUT- it must happen, so we are moving along.
I didn't get tons of pictures of the trip - but here's a few.

(I am 26 weeks in that picture- but am now 27 weeks!!  Not much of a difference. )

Advice

Anyone have advice or tips on what kind of strollers are good, brands or kinds of tried and tested strollers.  I'm wanting a jogging stroller.  Also what about baby swings?  And car seats? And high chairs? And... anything else I'm not asking about and you've got tips- I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

Road Rage

It seems our little baby has got some road rage in him!  Either he loves driving in the car or he hates it.  I don't know yet, but whenever I am in the car, he is MOVIN!  It is so strange.  I've noticed this in the past 5 or so days that he moves and kicks whenever we're driving, then he stops when I get inside.  Like right now, I just got home from work, and he's just chillin, but was going crazy on the way home.  Very funny!

Hump Days

I am so glad this 'hump day' is over!  Well-at least at work...
This is a shot of last week's 'hump day' belly..

23 Weeks

Exciting news!!!  For the first time I SAW our little baby's movement on my belly.  Yesterday I was sitting at work, and he was squirming and moving all over the place and I looked down at my belly and it happened.  I could see my belly move when he kicked.  Paxton has yet to see the kicks, but I don't doubt he will see it soon enough.   It was a really amazing moment.

Easter & things

Our Easter weekend was great as usual.  Friday night we went to an Easter musical play that my boss was performing in.  It was a good reminder of the real meaning of Easter Sunday.
We hung out with Brian & Jeni Saturday night and the highlight of that night was roasting marshmallows on a camping stove in their living room (not dangerous at all right) and making s'mores.  Mmmmm.. I think we all had at least 5 to 12 s'mores each. Ha-big range huh. So good!
During the day Saturday we got to pick up the baby furniture!!  It is so pretty, although we are still trying to figure out how to put the dang crib together!  After trying to look up instructions online, breaking a few pieces - ahem - and fiddling and experimenting, we are unsuccessful.  SO-if anyone has special knowledge on crib assembly, please do let me know... before August 9th, but preferably ASAP.
Easter Sunday morning we went to church and spent time with Paxton's family and had yummy food.
I am very grateful for this holiday to remind me of the acts of our Savior's love for us by His suffering of the Atonement and dying for all mankind, and then finally being Resurrected.  He lives, He lives today!  What a comfort that is to know He loves us so much to suffer for us, and now He is yet alive again to help us through our time on earth to return to Him.  What brings Him the most joy is when we are doing what is right and good. He is the ultimate example of all that is good, so if strive to learn of Him, live like Him and love like Him, we are promised to return to Him.  I love my Savior and find all the comfort I need in Him.
Anyway, Paxton & I are staying busy with work, gym, feeling baby kick and move, and sleep.  Pax is studying for the CPA, and I am studying the baby's development. :)  We are doing really well and very VERY happy.
Hope everyone had a Happy Easter Sunday.

22 weeks

Ewww yuck. Only one picture for this week.

This past weekend we went to Tyler, TX and spent time with Paxton's family.  I went to a baby shower for Paxton's cousin's wife who is due one week before me, and she's having a boy too!  They're gonna be buds I'm sure.  She got lots of cute stuff and one item I can't get out of my head is this onesie that had cute argyle fabric sewn onto it shaped like a big necktie.  SO cute. And there was a cute burp rag that had the same fabric sewn on.  It seems so easy, so I think that will be my next project!!  We've decided not to paint the baby's room for a few reasons, BUT that means we can start getting some furniture.  A BIG HUGE THANKS to Heather, Paxton's sister, for saving her daughter, Katie's crib for him whenever he was going to start his family.  I haven't seen it yet, but they've described it to me as a cherry wood sleigh crib!  Yay! Can't wait to move it in.  THANK YOU THANK YOU Heather :)
Yesterday I talked with a lot of my family on the phone.  They were all together at my parent's house in Idaho for General Conference and then to play and get some crafty things done.  I called home last night, not remembering they were all there.  It was so fun to talk to a bunch of the fam, but it REALLY made me homesick.  All night afterward and all day today I've been thinking how much I want to go home! I miss being around all my nephews, nieces, sibs & parents and being at all the big get-togethers... I love those.  We'll see if I can make it happen soon.
I am loving my husband so much these days.  Of course I always love him, but he has been especially sweet to me.  He takes care of me and makes sure I'm always comfortable.  He has been so patient with my weird sporadic mood swings, and does extra little chores to make it easier for me.  He is always giving me rubs wherever I am feeling sore or cramped.  Yesterday he felt our little baby move in my belly for the first time.  He felt it at least 5 different times throughout the day.  Our boy is a lively fella.
Pax is studying for the CPA exam and plans on taking the 3 he has left by July.  He will be SO busy studying like crazy for the next few months!  We are praying he will pass these tests so he doesn't have to re-take any of them...
One more thing I love about Paxton is his silly singing ALL the TIME!  He always has a song in his head and sings and dances.  One day he came home with a new favorite song.. one that he discovered on the spanish radio station.  He bought it on iTunes and has been listening to it tons.  We made a special video that you can check out below. :)
I LOVE YOU Paxton.

I got a special, unexpected package in the mail on Tuesday.  Isn't it so cute!  It's hard to see but it's a darling patchwork quilt.
I just want to give a
VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to JUDY BROTHERS!!!
That was so sweet and thoughtful of you, and I really appreciate it.  I can't even imagine the hours and work you put into it.  It is perfect!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Stars game

Tonight we went to the Dallas Stars hockey game vs Florida.  The Stars lost.  By 3!  There wasn't too much action til the last period when two fights broke out.  That fulfilled our night of hockey.  I didn't want to leave without seeing a few fights.
We were fortunate to be invited to go and be in the suite with all you can eat food.  This time around there was BBQ sandwiches, nachos, quesadillas, and other things.  When the dessert cart came around, I got myself a HUMONGOUS slice of S'more cake.  I ate over half of it, and there was still tons left-- as you can tell.  It was delish!  I'm still uncomfortably full from it.

I'm getting big!  Aaaahhhh!

My Latest Craving

SALT & VINEGAR PRINGLES
 They taste so good!
I was craving them last Friday, and finally bought some at like 10pm and downed half the can in like 20 minutes. Yummm.  Since then I've bought 2 more super size cans, and one is already eaten-by me.  Pax ate probably like 10 of those.  HA.
This past weekend was a lot of fun and we got a lot done!!  It felt good.  Friday night, Paxton had a regional church basketball game.  It was single elimination, and they unfortunately lost their first game so they were out quick!  It was a crazy game.  I don't want to go into any details- just know it was SO UNFAIR! :)  Saturday we went to the temple.  We hadn't been in awhile, so it felt really nice to go and get that spiritual boost.  Later that day we went shopping!  Shopping for 72-hour kits!!  Yay!  We got a lot of stuff, but our shopping got cut short when Costco closed at 6pm.  Dumb!  It's so crazy they close at 6pm on a Saturday night!  I was a little upset and annoyed because we were planning on getting all our shopping done that day.  But we did buy some food storage, water, mag lite, shovel, ax, lantern, and a few other things.  We also got our grocery shopping partially done as well.  Sunday we went to church and then had some friends over for dinner and watched Twilight!!  By the time Monday rolled around, I was NOT in the mood to go to work.  We had a great, relaxing yet productive weekend.  Every weekend I always wish that I could pause time and just stay at Saturday or Sunday.  I never want it to end.  Today at work I felt so uncomfortable.  Since I sit at a desk all day, I am kind of crouching over at the computer and looking down at papers and stuff, so my tummy gets crunched.  Today was just so uncomfortable.  The baby is just growing and everything is expanding in there.  My tummy is getting a bit harder now.  It is also getting more uncomfortable to sleep. I've been thinking of getting a body pillow.  It seems like that would be comfortable to put between my legs and then under my belly when I'm on my side.  We'll see.
So Paxton is ALMOST done with his "busy season."  Just a few more weeks.  He has been working so hard and under lots of stress.  I just can't wait til it's over.  I hate to see him so exhausted and worn out.  And I hate that he's not home from work at a normal hour.   I guess I gotta get used to it.  I thought I was used to it, but it just seems to drag.
Alright, I gotta go make Pax some dinner.

Belly shot n more

20 week belly shot update:
(well.. 19 weeks and 5 days)

So I have been so busy that past few weeks.  The old pest control company I worked for sold to Terminix- so I work for Terminix now.  I am being trained on how things run there and their system... let me just tell you I am so overwhelmed and my brain hurts.  There is so much to know and they've been trying to cram it in my brain these past 2 weeks.  The days go by quickly, and luckily the weeks go by quickly too.  But that gets me behind on everything else.  I get home and don't really ever want to do anything except just sit on the couch.  Sometimes not that extreme, but there are days like that.  And it gets lonely for me since Paxton works til 8:30 at the latest.  A couple of nights it's been til 10:30.  He is even more exhausted than I am when he gets home... so you can probably imagine why we don't really get much done.  That's what this weekend is for...
I went to the gym twice this week, and both times after my workout I felt a lot of lower abdomen pressure.  I worry myself each time, so I've finally decided I need to take it even easier than I already am doing, and just do a lot of non-impact exercise... which means like rowing or cycling or something where I'm sitting down and exercising.  Anybody have suggestions or had the same pressure feeling when they worked out?  I dunno.  I just know that I want to take it even easier to prevent anything.  I also know that my baby is still alive in there.  He is always moving around.  In fact, I can feel him now.
I am loving the weather we've had here.  It's actually funny- my new boss is always giving me a hard time of how WHITE I am.  Haha.  I will be the first to admit that I need to get some color.  He actually goes to a tanning bed frequently, so he teases me a lot about getting tan.  The other day I sat out in the sun and read a book after work, and I realized just how white I am.  I'm almost translucent.  Haha.  Yeah.
Alright then, everyone take care- have a fabulous weekend.  I know I will!

Workin' out

So I have already stopped running since I've been pregnant, and it's amazing how quickly I feel 'out of shape.'  I am walking, on the elyptical, and stairmaster, but it's just not the same as running.  I had tried running here and there earlier in my pregnancy, but my heart rate would get too high, so I could only run for like 5 minutes.  That's no good.  It's just amazing how running works your whole body- even you arms a little bit- because you're swinging and holding them up.  Anyway, I just envy all you guys running and training for races... I'll be with ya in about 6-7 months.
Has anyone felt this?  Tonight for my workout I walked on the treadmill for 10 minutes, went on the elyptical for 30 minutes, then on the stairmaster for 15 minutes.  At the end of my elyptical workout and throughout my stairmaster- I felt pressure low in my abdomen- like my lil baby was being crunched... I didn't like that feeling or thought of what it's doing to our little guy.  I slowed down and tried to stretch out my abdomen.  Is the bouncing from the elyptical bad?  Did it make anybody feel discomfort or lower pressure?
ALSO- I am wanting to do ab workouts, but at the same time it feels like it's too much pressure on the baby when I crunch or balance and go from side to side (if that makes sense)... anyone got any tips or words of wisdom?
Finally, we will be doing something tomorrow night worthy of taking a few pictures-- a Mavs game with a few friends! Those are always fun!  I haven't posted pictures forever!  Because of that, I have posted an old pic of us when we were dating.  We often get reminded of times when we were dating, and we love it.  I would post my whole folder of pictures of us when we were dating, but ... I guess here's just one.
Going swimming at Monkey Rock
I love you baby.

Well, it looks like he takes after his Dad... If you know what I mean.

Okay, verdict's in. IT'S A BOY!!!! Thanks everyone for voting, looks like democracy still works. Here is a picture of the little guy. Yes, those are his legs and, well, you know. No, we have not yet picked out an official name. However; Isaac, Ty, Eli, Jack, and Dylan are the runners up. In the future, we will probably post the final names and have another vote.

Cast a vote

Vote to the right, if you'd like.
If you want to try and be technical, you can look up the Chinese calendar or other tricks that you know of in predicting the baby's gender... the due date is August 9th.
No prizes are awarded- sorry.  Just curious of what people think/hope.
Pax thinks girl, I think boy.

Library and reminiscing again.

Today, a few childhood memories crossed my mind that made me smile.  The past few weeks I've been wanting to get some books to read and keep my mind going.  I've looked at a couple different stores and then finally decided I'm just going to go to the public library, apply for a card and check out books whenever I want to.  What a grand idea!  That made me think of when I was young, myself and my older brothers and sisters would go to our local library all the time- at least once a week it seemed like.  We would walk over there- which was probably 1.5-2 miles away, or we'd ride our bikes.  We would sometimes spend hours there just reading and getting on the awesome computers-- the old school ones.  Good ol' Ada County Public Library.  Once we were done, we'd stop by Maverick gas station across the intersection and buy a bag of Big League gum, a King Size candy bar, if we had enough change or just settle for some 5 cent candy.  Then we'd be back on our way home with our books and candy.
As we got older, my mom had us read 1-2 hours every day in the summertime.  We had to read that long every day, plus our chores that were assigned to us before we could go hang out with friends, or shop or play.
Another memory I was reminiscing a little about with my co-worker was our home in Boise.  I grew up with a cow, Bessie, chickens, a goat at one point, several different dogs (who all died), fresh raspberries and blackberries, apples, a grape harbor, a huge treehouse with rope swings, a tire swing, a larger than life sandbox, a basketball hoop, horses in a pasture across the street, a MEAN dog next door, customized stepping stones with all of our handprints and initials in them, and a zip line-- ALL at one home!  I never had to milk our cow much, but it was milked by my siblings morning and evening.  I did however collect the eggs from the chicken coup a lot!
We also had to pick berries and be pricked by the thorns.  I'd end up eating a handful or two before they actually got to my mother's hands inside.
Pickin me some raspberries bare-foot.
We were in the berries and fell, but we thought it was blood!
Just thinking about how I grew up is kind of amazing to me because it is SO much different than what it's like now.  We had our own milk, cream, eggs, and berries.  We had to work a lot outside, but I think we all grew a lot and learned how to work hard.  We didn't always have the newest and best things at our home, but I didn't know any better.  We were still happy.  I just see kids and teenagers now and how spoiled and ungrateful they can be.  They don't have to work to get what they want, but everything is handed to them.
Helping Mom can green beans
I appreciate now that my mom made us read lots and made me practice the piano and made me work outside and made me listen to her.   She always said "It builds character" and I believe it.  With the luxuries we can have in our homes and the way things are made to be easier, it's easy to get lazy.  I don't want to get lazy. I want my children to have opportunities to learn how to work and to sacrifice and to stimulate their imagination and minds.  Hmm... I could keep going, but I've realized how much I'm rambling.  I guess the main point here is that I'm just grateful for how I was raised and the fond memories I have from childhood. Thank you Mom & Pop!! Paxton will attest to this, that I sometimes wish I was little again so I didn't have the stress, worries, and responsibilities of an adult.  Haha.. I guess I am such a kid at heart.  That's probably why I love little kids so much.

Here's few more childhood pics for kicks.
Camping at McCall- me with my jelly shoes- remember those?! ha
My awesome hand-me-down clothes.. I think I really liked that strawberry shirt though.

Moved AND Baby Belly

We are mostly settled into our new apartment, thanks to many guys from the ward that helped us.  I started packing and moving things Friday around 3pm and we didn't stop til about 11:30 that night.  Then the following morning, we woke up about 8am and starting packing and cleaning more to get ready for the guys to come help.  At 9am we started loading the trucks and moving everything from the third floor to another 3rd floor.  Ugh.  It was very exhausting going up and down and up and down and up and down stairs all day and all night for a couple days.  Finally at 6:30 on Saturday we had everything cleaned at the old apartment and everything moved into our new apartment.  It is Sunday night now, and we still have about 5-6 boxes to unload, arrange some furniture, and hang up all pictures.  I've been trying to catch up on some sleep from the weekend.  I'm just glad that the move is over!  I decided I'm not going to post pictures... you can just come visit us.  Yes- you in Idaho, Utah, Washington, California, Illinois, Tennessee, Iowa, Texas (of course), and any other state you live in...
And now you have it, a picture of my growing baby bump.  That baby in there is an active one!!  I am feeling it a lot more now! Wow! Just today I've felt it move several times throughout the day.  It is so exciting to feel it.  Paxton always asks, What does it feel like?  He always wants to know, and I explain it to him, to which he replies, I want to feel that too.  Haha.  He's so cute.
Oops I blinked

So, weird, scary story.  Tonight we were leaving our apartment to go to a friend's house.  I walked out the door first and headed towards the stairs.  Before I got to the top of the stairs, I noticed a black thing on the wall.. then it moved up.. it was climbing.  I got a little closer and then stopped abruptly when I realized it was a raccoon.  It was climbing up the wall and climbed into the gutter.  The gutter is positioned right where the stairs turn, so we would've had to walk right by it.  I imagined me walking by slowly and him pounce on my shoulder and bite me... so I suggested we take the opposite stairs.  Paxton was like, No he won't hurt us- raccoons don't hurt anybody.  He started walking towards the coon, and it turned it's head at us and stared us down.  He had no fear in his eyes.  He was a stubborn little guy.  That was his territory and he wasn't gonna move for nobody.  We stared at him back for a good 10 seconds, then turned the opposite way and went down.  BUT on the bottom floor we crossed over, so we had to walk under where the raccoon was chilling in the gutter.. and when we were able to look up and see him, he was there staring right back at us.  Aaaaahhh- it was just a weird, creepy, scary look with those dark eyes... ewww.  Anyway, that was just so weird to us.  It made us wonder if he lives in an attic in our building or what he was even doing there.  I wanted to get my camera and take a picture.. I was too lazy.  Maybe next time we have a visitor I'll snap a shot.

Still here

Hey everybody!  Just thought I'd quickly update to let everyone know we are still around, just busy busy.  Paxton is working his "busy season" now so he gets home later than usual... and I am still working the same hours- so no difference there.  We have been busy trying to pack and get ready to MOVE this weekend!  It is such a pain.... although we do have it pretty easy.  We're staying in the same apartment complex, just moving buildings to a bigger apartment.  It is crazy how much we accumulate in our apartment.  We have so much junk!  And it's junk that we should probably keep cuz we'll use it sometime... but it just takes up so much random space!  I can't even imagine how much worse it will get with a baby.
Speaking of baby, everything seems to be going well.  I have an appointment in 2 weeks where I'll find out what I'm having!!  I think I have definitely gotten a little belly now-- is it too early at 16 weeks?  Almost 17?  Hmm... let's hope not.  Of course everyone is different.  When did you start getting a little tummy with your first baby?  Also, I swear I felt the baby move a tiny little bit--- is it too early for that or was I just feeling indigestion? Could be...
Well I guess this is as quick of an update I can do... soon maybe I'll show a few pics of the new apartment...   Bye Bye.

Thicker

I am feeling thicker lately.   My pants are snug, my shirts are tighter, and it is SO depressing.  I know this is all part of pregnancy, but everything I've gone through so far, I have expected that I would handle really well.  I just didn't think it would be this hard.
I guess it doesn't help that I am waiting for a Digiorno pizza in the oven... that's really healthy!  Blah!

On a happier note, I am so excited it's the weekend!!!  And Valentine's Day!  We aren't really doing anything special-- that I know of -- so I don't know why I'm so excited.  Mostly because it's just the weekend and I need a break from work right now- for some reason the past few days were just stressful for me.  It didn't help that our office got hit by the storm Tuesday night and the roof was blown off, letting TONS of rain into the office and flooding it.. damaging computers, supplies, desks, chairs, etc.  It's just been a mess, yet luckily my office didn't get any water damage! Yay!
Anyway, we are still here-- no pictures are being posted because we haven't done anything cool to take pictures of, AND I am not feeling so cute to have my pic taken... maybe when I get past this "fat feeling" stage.
Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!
