These days

That's what he's been doing these days. Hangin out, crying, sleeping, crying, eating, crying, but also a whole lot of smiling. Go ahead, click on the picture to see a close up. He is just as cute when he cries.
For the past month or so he's shown interest in toys, and just colorful things in general. I lay him on the ground and set toys all around him so when he swings his arms like crazy, he can feel the toys and make them rattle and stuff. I caught him one day laying there (well there's not much he can do about that) and he was turned to one of the toys and smiling and jabbering. So cute.
I also catch him doing this.
He stretches his arms out, and holds them there for awhile. Talk about arm and shoulder strength! haha He's posing like a cheerleader. Oh I sure hope he doesn't pursue that route. We're rooting for a basketball, baseball, or football player or all 3!

Well, TONIGHT is the big Hobson Family Pumpkin Carving Contest! There's lot of competition this year, so we'll see who pulls through to win! Paxton has won the last 3 years, but EVERYONE is hoping to shut him down this year. I'll be sure to post pics of all the pumpkins and who won 1st, 2nd, 3rd & so on.
Also, today I am trying a new cookie recipe that I found on the Food Network. It has Nutella in it. We'll see how it tastes.

11 weeks

Ty is 11 weeks old today. Last night was his first time sleeping in his crib in his own room. He did great! I still am trying to figure out how to get him to sleep longer though. He's sleeping 7 hours before he wakes up to eat, but I'm wanting him to sleep like 10 hours. I'm hoping he'll just grow into it I guess...

Please..

"Please.. no pictures."
"Fine, just take one."

He's in the zone in one of these...
Two weekends ago, we went to the Peterbilt plant. They were having an open house type thing with free barbeque ! Yum! We got to walk around the plant and kind of see step by step how the trucks are made! Since Paxton had been there several times to audit the inventory, he knew how it all worked. So we walked around and he explained everything. It was pretty cool!

Ty is getting bigger and cuter! He loves to play with his toys. Just this morning I laid him on the ground and put toys around him. He laid there for 45 minutes looking at the toys, talking to them, and trying to hit them with his arms that he still cannot control. But he's trying.
He is almost 11 weeks. He has been sleeping a lot longer through the night now!!! Very exciting. The first time he slept through most of the night was last Monday- I think?? (I need to keep record of these things) He slept from 9:30pm til 5:45 am! I kept waking up so surprised he still hadn't woken up! It was bittersweet. I want him to sleep through the night, but I was just about to burst- if ya know what I mean. He has slept 7-8 hours for the past 2 nights, and one other night last week.
I am attempting to start him on a more structured schedule. Right now, he has not been taking naps at the same time everyday. He does not wake up at the same time every morning, so he eats at different times and then takes naps at different times. I just want to have more of schedule for myself- so I know when he'll be down for his naps. I guess it'll just kinda fall into place. We'll see.
Here are some more pics of Ty!

Superman! He's got some strong abs.
Isn't he just so scrumptious?! I love him!

Tyler, TX

Two weekends ago, we went to Tyler to visit Paxton's family. We got to visit with his dad, grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins. And we got to meet the newest addition- Lane. What a cutie. Lane is just 4 days older than Ty. It was fun to see another baby Ty's age. They are both exactly the same. haha.
Lane
I got to go to Canton with Jenny, the mother of baby Lane. That was so much fun. I got a cool sign for the home that says "HOBSON established 2006". Canton is just so amazing and overwhelming. I'm glad to got to go.
Ty tried on this adorable hat. I want one like this now!!! He looked so cute, but I don't know if he liked it that much.
He got to dress up for church. We were able to go to baby Lane's christening. Glad we could be there.

Paxton went dove hunting Saturday morning with his cousins. They had a great time camping over night so they could get up at dawn to start hunting. Too bad he got the kiddie sleeping bag with Lion King on it. I think he was a little cold. haha.
We had a really great time visiting and being with his family.

Anniversary & things

So, for our anniversary we went out to eat at The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant... an expensive one at that. Yikes! But it was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed every bite... except for the ravioli. Never been a fan of those. Anyway, we went to a fondue restaurant for our 1st Anniversary, so I wanted to go again. We took lots of goofy pictures. We had a fun time.

Pax had to make fun of me. Last time we were eating fondue, he took a picture of me with cheese all in my teeth. He did a little exaggeration here... like he always does.
I completely spaced the fact that there is a lot of garlic put into the cheese and the oil that you cook your entrees in. Yeah- Ty didn't like that too much. I had a hard time getting him to take my milk afterward. Poor fella. Poor me! Ugh--very stressful. But we got through it.

My favorite part of the whole meal was, of course, the dessert. CHOCOLATE! We picked a dark chocolate/peanut butter fondue. Then they give you a big plate of food to dip like cheesecake, brownies, marshmallows, rice krispie treats, strawberries, bananas, etc. We downed the whole thing. Yup. Delish!
I love you Pax!

Ty went to the doc today for his 2 month check-up and got 3 immunization shots! Poor little man. He screamed and screamed, but after a bit of Tylenol and a little meal, he's snoozin away, trying to recover.
Here are his stats:
Height: 22 inches, 25th percentile
Weight: 12 lbs, 50th percentile
Head circumference: 15 3/4, 50th percentile
He's running about average... he's just my perfect little man. I love him so much. He is a really happy baby, and has started talking and smiling a LOT more. He has the cutest and biggest smile. I try to get it on camera, but every time I pull it out, he stares at it and won't do anything else.
As you can tell, he's filling out some more. He was such a skinny little baby when he was born, but now he's got a cute double/triple chin. Love it.

October 6th

Today is our anniversary. We've been married 3 years now...
Paxton is such a great husband. He is very caring and thoughtful of my needs. He is a really hard worker and has to stay busy around the house. He keeps me spiritually motivated and on track doing the right things. I lean on him for comfort, advice, security, and encouragement. He makes me laugh every single day. There truly is never a dull moment in our home. He is a wonderful, helpful, loving, new father. I am lucky to have him and will never let him go.
I love you Pax.

Smiles & Laughs

Here's the video of Ty smiling and laughing, and a cute sneeze at the end. This is mostly for my family, since they all live so far away and haven't seen him in person. I know a lot of it is just him sitting there, but you have to wait awhile to get him to smile and laugh. It's worth it.
And-- don't listen to me on the video. I'm a dork.
