1st day at Church

We took Ty to church last Sunday for the first time. He was good. He slept most of the time. I think he liked the new atmosphere. It seems the noise from the crowds put him to sleep. We'll see how long that lasts.
But he did look especially cute since he wore a little collared shirt and dress pants.

I caught him smiling while he was sleeping. He smiles a lot bigger than this, but this is what I got. One of these days I want to record him when he's sleeping because he makes all these silly faces and then gives the occasional grin. He even laughed one time- it was so cute.

Katie came to visit for about a week. She recently got back from her mission, and this was the first time I had seen her since she'd been back! It was lots of fun to have her here to see the baby and help out. She, of course, loves Ty to pieces. hehe- Who wouldn't? She already claims the title Ty's Favorite Aunt. She had the magic touch in getting Ty to sleep, so I let her do it a few nights. Hey, it let me get some sleep myself.

...and these are just for pleasure's sake

I am getting used to running on less sleep and having to wake up in the middle of the night to feed him. But that doesn't mean I enjoy waking up at 3 am. Mostly every night at 3 am, as I am nursing Ty, I look over at Paxton with envy. He always looks so peaceful and rested. But I try to get my sleep in during the day while Ty is napping. It works.
Well, that's been my life the past 3 weeks. Yep, Ty is already 3 weeks old! And his facial features have already changed. He looks older and more handsome every day. We just love him to pieces.

Mom's visit and more pictures!

My mom came to visit and help with the baby. She had perfect timing because she came in on Tuesday, and it was that night (Wednesday morning) that I went into labor! I guess Ty just wanted his grandma there when he came. She was SO helpful. It was a great blessing to have her here. She made dinners, cleaned the house, did laundry, took care of Ty when he was fussy, and let me sleep and recover before she had to leave. I was so sad to see her go, and felt lonely and scared my first night alone. Paxton & I appreciate all you did for us Mom- Thank You!

Ty doesn't like baths. He just gets so cold. He loves being all bundled up in the towel afterward though.

Paxton's work gave us this cute Peterbilt onesie. It's supposed to fit him at 18 months, but we wanted to put it on him now. Haha.
Ty has already passed his birth weight and weighs 7 lbs, 7 oz. Maybe a little more now. He is pretty good at sleeping at night, but it's so inconsistent. Last night was probably the worst night yet. I'm not sure why he was so fussy and restless, but it made for a LONG night! I feel bad because I can at least take a nap during the day to recover, but Paxton has to go to work all day. He was so exhausted this morning. I guess that's what it's all about. But Paxton is so helpful with Ty. I am so grateful for him.

For my labor story - since I've had requests to tell all about it. Wednesday August 12, at 1am I started having contractions 5 minutes apart. By 1:30am my water broke- or so I thought. So I got Pax & my mom up and we went to the hospital. When I got there, I was dilated to only a 2. They hooked me up to an IV and I just had to sit and wait. After a little while, they gave me pitocin to get me going. It took 10 hours for me to dilate from 1 to 5, then another 5 hours to dilate from 5 to 10 ! Somewhere during the first 10 hours I got an epidural. After that, I just relaxed and slept a ton! Paxton, my mom, and Paxton's mom were all at the hospital waiting and waiting and waiting. Ty sure took his sweet time. Finally, around 5pm I was dilated to a 10 and I felt lots of pressure. I was going to wait for my doctor to start pushing, but after waiting for 30 minutes, I couldn't wait any longer. The nurse and Paxton helped during the pushing. After 1 hour of pushing, and use of the vacuum, Ty was born! It was so amazing! I could not believe that baby was inside my belly. It was something I will never forget! I expected the labor to be a lot worse than it turned out to be. That epidural is amazing!
Ty is so sweet and just the cutest thing ever! Paxton & I love him so much!

Ty is so sweet. He is the cutest thing ever, and Paxton and I already love him to death! Here are just a few more pictures of him at what he does best- sleep!
This is one of my favorite pictures of him- so far at least. He has the cutest lips.

Happy Birthday yesterday...

... to Abby and Paxton and NOT Ty. Yes, it is true. Our sweet baby is still not quite ready to come to us. We had a few hard feelings yesterday, but we are over it now. Moved on. But still so ready to receive him any day! Any day Ty. ANYWAY, we celebrated our birthday at Ann & Steve's house. We had a dinner and birthday cake. It was great to not have to cook or prepare anything, and just relax! Thank you Ann, Steve, Heather, Katie, & Greg for the great birthday!

Well, I bought a cake pan awhile ago that is one giant cupcake. I had been waiting to use it for our birthday or somebody's birthday, so I was finally able to use it for ours. It didn't quite turn out as I expected. What do you think?
It looks like a giant doggy poo poo or something. The bottom of the cupcake needs to be smaller than the top. I don't know why they made it like that. Next time I'll have to fix that- then it'll be really cute. I tried my best though to make it look like a cupcake. It was still really good.
40 Weeks
We, meaning Paxton, has taken on the project of installing built-in book shelves in our front room. We didn't really have room to fit a book case since we have our small couch and computer desk in there, so we decided to build shelves to put our books on them. It has turned out to be quite the project, and has brought out the 'handy man' in Paxton, or lack thereof... Just kidding Pax! He has done a great job. We put the finishing touch on last night and so we're still waiting for the final product. We put small strips of crown moulding on the edge of each shelf.... it's going to look great! Superb job Pax!
Concentrating so hard... he is actually singing a song & going "Oooo eeee oooo." haha

Paxton started his new job today!!! So we had to take a picture before he left in the morning with his notebook and sack lunch in hand. Doesn't he look so excited to go to his new job!? Hehe- he's so cute. I love him so much!

I'm ready, but he's not

I went to the doctor today for my weekly check up. The last two appointments I had not been dilated at all, but effaced 50%, then 80%. Today at my check up, it was NO DIFFERENT. I am still not dilated at all!!! He asked me if I'd felt any contractions, anything different from the last week, which I had not. Maybe a few more Braxton Hicks- maybe? I don't even know if I know what those are. But definitely not real contractions. I have been in no pain at all, besides the extreme discomfort of the baby's weight and squirming around. Ugh !
The doc said my first opportunity to be induced is tomorrow, and the last is on the 14th. At least I know I'll definitely be having my baby by next Friday. Come on Ty- you can't be THAT comfortable in there!! Come out!!

It's a mystery

Crickets. They are everywhere. They are taking over our garage. A few get inside the house every so often. Luckily we have pest control come and spray inside & in the garage, otherwise they'd be hopping all over the place. But they are all dead, or dying when I find them. That's what we get when we move into a new home that is still being developed around us, right? But seriously, every time I have to go out to the garage, I open the door, reach to turn on the light, and look around for crickets before I step foot in there. I also do that inside. I'm always looking at the floors searching for bugs. Paxton thinks I'm becoming paranoid and developing a phobia of crickets. I wouldn't say I have a phobia of them, yet, but they do gross me out.
Well listen to this. It's really strange, and funny. So, we have been telling people about this ridiculous cricket problem. Well Monday, on Paxton's way home from work, I call him for some reason, but he didn't answer. So I wait a little bit and call him again. He finally answers and asks, "Did you change my ringtone?"
I said "No why?"
He said, "It sounds like crickets."
"What? Crickets? That is so weird!! I didn't change it, who changed it? Who did we tell about our crickets?"
Paxton said evenly, "The crickets changed it."
Haha. He said it so seriously. So, we called several people to ask if they had changed his ringtone, but they all said no. We still don't know how it got changed, or who changed it. I kind of have a feeling the crickets changed it. Paxton and I joke about how one day we'll hear a knock at the door and there will be a giant cricket standing there when we open the door. And he'll say, 'Let me in boy, I'm here to take over your house', with an old man's New York accent. Haha, we are such dorks.

Push that belly out

39 weeks

Paxton wanted to get a belly shot. He has been feeling left out these past several months. Throughout most of my pregnancy, we've joked about him being pregnant as well, because he has had a lot of the same symptoms as me. He was tired more than usual, was hungry a lot more, his belly grew just a little bit more :) , and I don't know what else, but we like to joke about it... he is so silly. I love him so much. I laughed that he pulled up his shirt to show his bare belly, and I didn't even do that this time. Haha. So, I am actually wearing his blue t-shirt. His clothes just fit better and are so much more comfy. I'm not liking the tight form-fitting shirts as much anymore because I feel so HUGE!
This outfit made me look and feel huge! It's a maternity stretchy shirt that accentuated my belly for sure. This picture does not show how huge I really looked in the shirt.
I've been having a really bad case of pregnancy brain lately. It is embarrassing. I can't remember anything, and it's hard for me to think deeply or concentrate on things. Yesterday Paxton and I were talking about when we lived in Rexburg, ID at college and some things that went on there, and I could hardly remember the details or what he was talking about. There have been times where I am trying to express my thoughts or opinion to Paxton, and I can't get it out. I just ramble and stutter and don't make any sense at all. Good thing we've been laughing it off though, so it's not getting us too frustrated.

Paxton is loving having a house and keeping up with the yard work and house work. It sounds crazy, but he has been enjoying it. He gets his favorite shoes on- Crocs - and mows the lawn, weed-eats, hoses down the trees & bushes, organizes the garage, and just fiddles around the house and yard making sure everything looks perfect. I am looking forward to doing yard work as well, just not right now. I have no desire to do it. It's too hot, I can't bend over, and I'm too tired.
We are slowly getting everything organized and put away inside our house. We are out of boxes, but still have lots of junk and pictures laying around. We got a computer desk now, but still need to install our book shelves, and get a little chest for storing our computer/office supplies. Then the pictures will go up, and we should be done! Once all of this happens, then I can get some pictures of the interior posted on here.

Well, I am officially DONE WORKING at Terminix. Friday was my last day. So I've got this whole week to get last minute errands done, cleaning, organizing, and waiting. That is, if the baby comes on it's due date. The big 'hoo-ha' now is that there's a full moon on Thursday, August 6th, and the old wives tale says the full moon brings women into labor. Ooooo, could this be? Will I deliver early? We will have to wait and see!!!

Blessed

I know people are probably sick of me always talking about my pregnancy and our baby, but of course it's the main thing that's been on my mind for the last 9 months. It's kind of hard not to talk about it too, when I have less than 2 weeks til it is all over, and I have an actual baby to take care of. Yikes! I have always wanted to be a mother, and ever since I've been married, I have been anxious to have a baby. Now that it's actually happening, I am nervous and feel like I have no idea what I am doing. I still feel like a child myself, but I know that help from my family and friends, I will learn what to do, and hopefully some of it will come naturally. My pregnancy has been such an easy one, and I feel so grateful for that. Other than heartburn, and minor aches and discomfort, I have enjoyed hearing the baby's heart beat, feeling his first movements, seeing my belly roll around while he is shifting inside me, and feeling his hiccups every day. It is an amazing thing to see and feel him growing from a tiny embryo to a 6-7 pound baby boy. I have loved each sonogram where I can make out his fingers, legs, heart, head, and face. And now as it is almost over, I am anxious to meet him and hold him and take care of him. I have no idea how hard it is going to be, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to raise a happy, healthy baby. Let's just hope he's a good baby, like Paxton & I were- right Mom & Ann??? I have just 4 more days left of work (HALLELUJAH), and then 1 more week til my due date! 38 weeks
We have some really great news!! Paxton has been offered a job at Peterbilt, and he accepted! It is located a lot closer to our new home, so we will be saving loads of money on gas and tolls. He will be working in the accounting department, but with what he's learned of the company and his job description, he thinks he will enjoy it a lot, and will learn a lot as well. He starts in a few weeks, yet it depends on when the baby comes. I am SO happy for him, and am excited for him to be starting a job where he enjoys going to work. We have been so blessed in our lives lately. The Lord is watching over us and everything has fallen so easily into place, and has blessed us with things that we haven't even asked for. We are so grateful and happy for all the blessings we've received.
Just yesterday at church, I felt at peace and comfort with a few things I had been praying about and struggling with. I love having those really spiritual days where you feel the Spirit so strongly and know that Heavenly Father loves you and is watching out and cares for you. I am grateful to have a strong testimony of the gospel and have the happiness that comes from it.
Well, it is now my bedtime, although the baby thinks otherwise. He is having a party in there! This may be a long night.

Katie's coming home!

Katie has been on a mission serving in Columbus, OH. She gets home this Friday, July 24th- on her birthday!!

Can't wait to see her! Don't know when it will be, but at least I can talk to her on the phone right?!

Our New House !

This is it! Isn't it cute?

We closed on this house at the end of June. We took our time moving our stuff in, slowly taking small loads throughout the month of July, and last Saturday July 18th, we finally moved everything in. We are now living in this home, and it is so fun! We have our own house!! That weekend we moved in we spent long days and nights getting everything settled. I hate clutter, so I wanted to get everything unpacked as soon as possible. We still have a few things that are laying around, and need to hang up all of our pictures, but for the most part everything is put away. Paxton has been really diligent about watering all the trees around the house to make sure they don't die. I told him I will want to do this once I'm not pregnant, but I really haven't been up to working outside. It's too hot and it is too uncomfortable to be bending over and walking around pulling the hose and pulling weeds and stuff. But one day, it will happen. I want to get some pretty flowers and add a rock border around the flower bed areas.
Anyway, we've stayed at the house 3 nights now, and we are loving it more and more ! Now I just can't wait to raise our family in this house. Come on Ty, get here soon!

Baby stuff

Before we moved into our house, we wanted to get any and all painting done. First project was the baby's room. We were extremely happy with the way our baby boy's room turned out. It took a long time to tape the straight lines and get everything prepped to paint these stripes, but once that was done, the painting went by really quickly. Luckily we only did ONE wall, and not the whole room. It looks best that way anyway.
Finally, with all the furniture in, it is ready to be received by our sweet baby Ty. This is my favorite room in the house now.
37 week shot

My awesome mother-in-law threw not just one, but TWO baby showers for me. One for friends, and one for family. I didn't get any pictures of any of them, BOO, but Paxton got a picture of the cute cupcakes from the family baby shower that was just this last Sunday. How cute.
Thank you Ann, and everyone else who helped with the baby showers. And Thank You for all who came and gave gifts for Ty. We got lots of good stuff, and we appreciate everything! Now I am anxiously waiting to meet our little man. He is making me larger and larger, and more uncomfortable than ever. I have just less than 20 days now!!

Happy 4th !

As of today, I am actually 35 weeks, but I haven't taken a pic of that yet. I wanted to quickly post my 34 week pic. I guess there's not too much change from 34 & 35 weeks right?
34 weeks

Pax & I have been SUPER busy the past week. Paxton took TWO CPA exams, and then I have just been working and getting stuff ready for our new house, which I'll post about another time. The weekend was really busy as well with working on the house, work, and family time for the 4th of July! I didn't get any pics of the fireworks or anything, but we had a great 4th of July evening watching about 8 different firework shows. We lounged out in front of Paxton's mom, Ann's home which looks over a lake so it's wide open. We were able to watch multiple firework shows from all the different cities. It was very pretty.
Well, it's a short update, but when I have more time, and pictures, I'll post more about our new home, our projects, baby stuff, and everything else. Hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July!
