Motorcyle Mania

Here are some pics at Jerry's place, with his motorcyle helmet on. How silly.
We spent a couple days with him, and went out to dinner and stuff. Jerry just loves his motorcycle. He showed us all the nifty things about it. It is really cool actually- very nice. It was fun to see him again.

Ha... what a cute guy. He looks pretty good in a helmet, but I don't think we'll bet getting him a motorcycle... NOPE! maybe just a helmet. :)

Bowlin Time!

Pax and I headed to Houston Tuesday morning. We had an entertainment center to pick up that my brother Mark gave to us. That's a whole different story. He gave us his TV, DVD player, TONS of speakers, and other stuff I don't know what they are! ha. Anyway, we had a car full. We also visited Jerry and Ryan & Jill. We went to Ryan's office and checked out where he works everyday. Looks pretty awesome Ryan. Then we went BOWLING! I hadn't been in FOREVER so I was a little rusty. But here's the STORY... So everyone knows of course that you have to make bets on these types of games. So Pax and I were on a team and Ryan and Jill were too. We bet that the loser will have to buy the winner icecream. We played TWO games. So we added up all our points to see who won. So the first game I was a bit rusty. Well pretty much the whole time, but definitely during the first few bowls. Anyway, and Ryan and Jill were doing awesome. They got so many strikes and spares- pretty much tearin it up. They beat us by 55.. So Pax and I knew I had to win the next game by MORE than 55 points. So, we were playing, and Paxton figured out this technique that was getting him strike after strike! It was awesome. He got like 5-6 strikes and a few spares. And I got like 2-3 strikes. Ryan and Jill still did good, but it just didn't cut it for how well we were doing! ha. So we BEAT them by 93 points!!! YEEEHA!!! It was fun.

Jill is good at bowling. I wasn't surprised about that, but when her competitive side came out, we were a little surprised! haha... don't get on her bad side during ANY type of game. After we went bowling we went to Ryan and Jill's awesome apartment and had pizza. Then Ryan had a basketball game we all went to and cheered him on. But definitely not as much as Jill did. She gets SO SO SO SOOOO into it! It's awesome. She was pacing the floor, yellin at the other team, taunting them, yelling at the refs, and of course- cheering for her hunny. She gets into ANY game- like I said earlier- showing her competitive side of her.

He thought he had us beat with the NUMEROUS strikes he and his partner got, but he bows his head in defeat, knowing he still could not beat the Hobsons!!

We finally found one!!

After looking all over the Dallas Metroplex, and checking out probably 20 apartments (I'm not even joking), we finally found one that we love. It's called Cambria and is located in Carrollton right off the 121 bypass and Hebron. It's a 1 bed/1 bath and we got a pretty good price on it. It overlooks Coyote Ridge golf course and is close to a DART bus station so I can take the bus to work in the morning. Anyway, watch the video to check it out (this video is of the model apartment by the way, but is the same floor plan and set up).

Puppy Fever

Hey everyone, we found the thing to use to download our pics to the computer so I made LOTS of posts- be sure to check them all out. I think there's about 5!!!
Katie got a new adorable little puppy Shorky named Snickers. Because it is such a cute pup and having that name I truly do want to eat him sometimes! SOOO cute.

haha- I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE this picture. I love his mouth. Do a close up of that one! :)

Paxton is silly!

Everyone who knows Paxton knows that he would never hesitate to pose for a picture like this. This was in the mall in Dallas- don't remember which one... anyway. We walked into the mall at Macy's, and this statue was right there, so I was like Pax- pose right by him- Im gonna take a picture. There was about 5-8 people around shopping and talking, and he was like OK yeah and got into it. haha. He makes me laugh so much.

I have already posted this pic, but I wanted to post it again to show that he does it quite often. :) hee hee.

Temple Trip

Here's two pics of us ready to go to the temple. This was my first time in the Dallas temple. It's a beautiful temple.

Road Trip with a U-Haul!

Here's some pics of the trip from Idaho to Texas!!! A long 28 hr drive. Yipee! This pic is the first couple of hours.

I wanted to take pics of the mountains, since I won't be seing any for awhile! Also, I tried taking pics of the snow and show everyone the crazy weather we had to go through. Yeah, it wasn't that bad- it added some excitement.

Before we actually crossed the Texas line, we stopped and took a picture. It was dark, but I am supposed to be in the picture. Maybe if you look closely, you can see me with thumbs up!

Grad day!

Why does he kinda look stoned?

On Graduation Day we had to be at the gym to meet at 7:45am. We stood in line for an hour. But we took pictures of all our friends and just hung out. I hated wearing that stupid cap. First: it looks so stupid. Second: it didn't fit too well. It would slide slowly slide off my head, so it wasn't too comfortable. Third: It made my ears poke out. So i tried to put my hair over it to cover it up- nope- didn't work. Eventually I put it all behind my ears- i didn't care.

Why do I kinda look stoned?

Oh yeah, and check out what it is like to graduate!! This video is a first person view of what it's like to walk into your own graduation ceremony at BYU-Idaho... (make sure to turn up the volume for the full effect!)

We're in Dallas!

Well, we graduated a little over a week ago, packed up our whole apartment, cleaned like crazy, and drove to D-town with a 5x8 U-haul attached to our Hyundai. We pulled in after just 28 hours of driving! The weather throughout the trip was crazy-- the wind in Wyoming and Kansas was blowing about 50-60 mph. Ahh- so annoying. Who would ever want to live in Wyoming anyway. It's so ugly and just too windy.
Anyway, we finally made it to Ann's beautiful new home. She and Steve welcomed us with a yummy home-cooked meal. Something we hadn't had in like 3-4 days. YUMMY! We have hung out with Ann, Steve, Brian, Jeni, Heather, Chris, Katie, and several others. Being with friends and in-laws makes it a lot easier for me to get through the hard times of being away from my family. Thanks everyone.
Pax & I went house hunting today and found one particular home which we like a lot. We'll keep an update on what is happening with that. I want to find a place to live so I can look for a job. Wouldn't that be great if we got in a home?!!!! I mean, I wouldn't mind staying in Ann and Steve's brand new, beautiful, perfect home, but I think they might want their privacy! ha. They say we can stay as long as we want, but i think they will be pleased for us to find a house and MOVE OUT! :) ha.
Anyway, in the mean time, we'll be figuring out where to live, and just be hanging out. Well at least I will; Paxton ALWAYS has something to do... who knows what it is! I wish I could always stay busy.. without a job, or school, or projects. Hmm.
Well, because we have most all of our belongings packed, I cannot upload pictures onto the computer. I don't know where the thing to upload pics from your camera to the computer is in all of our boxes; i dont really want to dig through everything- so it might be awhile before you see images! SORRY!

Confrence Weekend

General Confrence is so cool!! Abby and I stayed home and watched confrence all day Saturday and Sunday, it was such a good confrence. It has been the first one in a while where I gave my full attention and got a lot out of the messages. Abby and I's most favorite talks were Elder Holland's talk about not complaining and Elder Faust's talk about the Amish people and forgivness.

So what did we do in between confrence sessions? Well, like most people we ate food, ran errands, Abby worked out, and oh yeah, we played the foot song!! Check it out...

Jazz Game

Monday night Abby and I scored some jazz tickets. My buddy Mark won them on a radio contest but couldn't go so he gave them to us. So we drove all the way from Rexburg to Salt Lake City and really had a blast!! Check out the pictures and video from the trip...

Getting things done before we left town...

Notice that the girl in the background took two steps forward

Stretch it out boys...

Ahh, that's cute

Deron Williams had a good game, but Boozer saved them with his 41 points!!!

This video is when the Jazz came back in the 4th quarter, the crowd went crazy!

Good Friends, Good Times

So if we haven't already told you, we are in the best ward ever!! We have made some of the coolest friends and we are going to miss them and the ward so much when we move to Texas. Tonight we had them all over for a yummy dinner and a sweet Yahtzee tournament. We made the main dish (sweet and sour chicken) and everyone else brought something like salad, rolls, dessert, etc. Anyway, here are some pics of the evening...

This is Erin and Kellen, they live right below us.

This is Rachael, her husband Travis, Tessa, and Melissa (from left to right)

This is Dave and his wife Melissa, Dave played laying down the whole time.

This is my sweetheart!! She is so cute...

This is the after the Yahtzee tournament was all said and done, and the results are...
1st Place - Erin, she smoked all of us!!
2nd Place - That's right, Paxton
3rd Place - Abby!! The Hobson's brought their A game tonight.

The awesome prizes we made up at the last minute were:
1st Place- a Nike running shirt
2nd Place- a Nutrigrain bar
3rd Place- a roll of TP! ha.. that's about the coolest prize-worthy items we had in our apartment.

Hey- it's Abby now. Just wanted to say we had tons of fun and we are super full!! We're excited to move to Dallas and make new friends there- but we sure are going to miss these fabulous friends we've made here- and hope to keep in touch with them. We always seem to be blessed with genuine people around us.

Yahtzee!!!

Yahtzee is our favorite game!! We play almost every Sunday night. As you can see, Abby tries to intimidate me by drawing hearts on my score sheet and its seems to be working since she's up 4-2. I'm not sweating it though, there's still next week.

Go Mavs!!!

Check this kid out!! It's pretty funny...

Ab Ripper X

Abby and her sister Katie always do this workout called "Ab Ripper X". I will admit, its pretty hardcore, thats why I don't do it with them. Anyway, they always have a fun time doing it and I must say it's pretty fun watching my wife work her abs. She is so cute...
Work it baby, work it!!!

Good job ladies

Stretch those abs!!

VaLeNtiNe'S DaY!

Kind of bad pictures of us- oh well- just wanted to show some pics of Valentine's Day- our first one together. We didn't have much time to go out to eat at a nice restaurant so we went to Fazoli's, which turned out to be really good. I was craving just something with spaghetti sauce- so yeah- it was yummy. Then we went to the temple- it was a very great idea for Valentine's Day. Loved it.
I don't know if you can see, but there was a little girl in the background of this picture that was watching us a lot. So when we were taking pics she was staring at us. You might be able to see her in the shadow- in the background. She was cute.

Choco-Holic!

This past weekend we went to Salt Lake, So. Jordan, Sandy, and Layton- just areas around Salt Lake City. Anyway, we had a long weekend so we spent time with a bunch of my family each day! It was so fun. First we spent time with my brother Mark, then went to my other brother Matt and Candace's house. We got to see my newest nephew and other nephews. They're so cute. Then that night we went to P.F. Chang's. These are what the pictures are of. The one above is me and my sister Katie. P.F. Chang's is SOOO good. I had never eaten there. But we got a beef dish, and shared with others. But then we got dessert- the HUGE chocolate cake with raspberry syrup and fruit! YUMMY! I was so full. But it was so worth it.

Paxton- posing like the statue in the background. Too bad it is a little dark- you can't see the little statue. He's silly.
Here is my brother Matt and his wife Candace, Paxton and me, and my sister Katie.

It was a fun night. After we ate, Pax and I went to the Salt Lake temple and went through a session- a live session. It was very interesting- I am so glad I went - it shows a little bit different perspective. And of course got to see inside- it's so beautiful. The next day we went to my old roommates house and her husband is a chef- he made us YUMMY food. Then we went to my sister, Melanie's house and chilled for the day. Went to church. Ate more yummy food. Then the next day it was my other sister, Leslie's birthday, so we went to Red Robin, got a yummy chicken burger. And a huge chocolate cake again for her birthday! This weekend was just filled with chocolate. I loved it!

Pizza with Friends

So Abby and I pride ourselves on not being one of those married couples that just sit's at home all the time and doesn't hang out with friends. Although, we do like alone time, we also have a bunch of friends that are really cool and who we love to hang out with. Here are some pics of some of our closest friends here at BYU-Idaho that we have known since we started school here. We love you guys and are going to miss you!!

That is Ben (my old roomate) on the right, Mark (my good friend that hooked up Abby and I) in the middle, and his date Taya

This is Ben and his soulmate Bonnie

"The Reserve Chip"

So Abby and I sat down today for a delicious plate of Chili/Chip burritos. They were really good, but we still had some left-over chili. What should we do??? Abby, being the genius she is, decided to put some cream cheese in the left-over chili and we had it as a dip with some chips. It was really really good. Anyway, as we were eating, we were pulling chips out of the bag, putting them on our plate, and then dipping and eating. Most people will eat all of the chips on their plate and then go to the bag for some more. Abby became curious as to why I would always keep one chip on my plate at all times while going back for more. I explained to her the "reserve chip" principle. This principle states that you must always keep a reserve chip on you plate in case the dip gets so scarce that there is only enough for one more chip. In that case, you do not have to panic and rush to the bag fighting the competition, you simply take your reserve chip and claim your prize.
Once I explained this to Abby she immediately found her own reserve chip. I made the mistake of reveling my principle to the competition, so now it was only a matter of time. As the chili came to an end I hesitated and Abby made the final kill, and got the last of the dip (beginners luck). Here are some pics of the action...

LONG DAYS + LONG NIGHTS = Cranky Wife!

So it has been one of the longest days of my life. It started out at 6 am when the alarm went off. I got up, got ready for the day, ate breakfast, packed lunches for Pax and I, and headed off to the library to study for 2 hours before my first class started. I studied, went to classes from 9am- 12:30pm. Then I tutored from 1pm-4pm. Then I had another class from 4:30-5:30pm. Then we went home for an hour and half to eat dinner. I took a 35 minute nap, then went to a play i had to go to for a class. That lasted for 2 1/2 hours!! LONG! Then I went back to the library to meet with a study group and work on a project. And now I am still here at the library, waiting for Paxton to finish his take home test- those things take forever! And he's having a hard time figuring it out. So... I'm super exhausted, achy, hungry- but don't want to eat, and just a little cranky. Do i have good reasons for it? I THINK SO! But Paxton is so patient with me - it's great. I wish i could go home right now- I know i'd fall asleep in 30 seconds. And the funny thing is, I am sitting here complaining about it, and Paxton hasn't complained once- and he's STILL doing homework. What a hard worker. Very grateful for that...
That's a bit of what our days are going to be like for the rest of the semester- some days not so long... yeah. And I think that's it. Not a whole lot else- just really looking forward to this weekend where I will totally relax and not do a thing. Ha- no i probably will. Hopefully workout and do a bit of homework.
Anyway, all is well. Love you all!!!
