Wedding, pictures, & 6 month stats

Ty and I got back from Idaho yesterday for Katie's wedding. The wedding was great, Katie was beautiful. Congrats Katie & Chad!
We stayed 10 days and hung out with Grandma & Grandpa, tons of aunts, uncles, and cousins! Whooo- it was a blast. The WHOLE family was there- with most of their kids too. It was a full FULL house! We hadn't gotten the whole family all together in a long time, so it was a big event. It was so much fun! Ty is probably so bored at home all alone now. He enjoyed all the attention he got, little cousins running around and playing with him. I had fun chatting with the family, laughing, staying up late, playing games, and playing with the little kiddos.
I took almost 200 pictures, so here's just a few.
Crazy sisters
the nieces...
.. more nieces. There are no pics of the nephews- those boys were too busy running around.
I stole this pic from Anjeanette. Thanks Anj! Unfortunately my camera didn't get out for someone to take a pic of the whole bunch, and just our immediate family.. so I don't have one. :( Sad. But here we all are-- with a few aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ty with Beckham, the newest grandchild in the family. He is 4 weeks old there. So adorable. And they're laying on the quilt Mom made for Beckham. Similar to mine... I love it.
And Beckham's big brother Zachary.
Ages: 6 months, 4 weeks, and 18 months

Ty helping Grandma cook... well just chew on the spatula.

Ty is moving around a lot. Not crawling, but scooting and rolling lots. He scooted himself underneath the piano. After I took this picture, I was amazed at how much it looked like me when I was a baby. I'm trying to get a hold of a certain picture that I'm thinking of to compare.
Watch out, he's gonna slobber on the camera!
---------------------------------------------
Ty's 6 month stats
Height: 27" 75%
Weight: 15.10 lbs 25 %
Head: 17.25" 50%
He is really healthy and happy. He is able to roll over both ways, scoot around a lot, and he can SIT UP! He can fall over pretty easily, but since he can stay sitting up for 5 seconds, that means he can officially sit up, according to the doc. He is probably going to start crawling soon! Yikes! He's progressing so quickly! It's really exciting.
He has a funny sense of humor. Earlier today I was holding him, and I had kicked a stuffed animal up in the air, and he started laughing out loud. So I did it again, and again, and again .. and he laughed and laughed. He also loves when I sing or dance to him. And he loves when I throw something on him. I have thrown a stuffed animal, a car pillow, and other soft toys on him and he just laughs. I think he likes it when we try to scare him. Silly boy. I love him to death!
Look at these pics taken one after the next...

Sweet Ty, I love you!

Hangin out

We met up with Daddy for lunch at Fuddrucker's the other day. Ty loved all the bottle caps in the table. So many colors! He couldn't get enough of it.

Ty is trying SO hard to roll from his back to tummy... he just can't figure it out still. This is what his attempts look like.

Crawling?

Yes! Well- not totally though. Ty took his first little shuffle of a crawl on Thursday night- January 14th! It was very exciting! He hasn't gotten up on his knees since then, but has come very close. Just the past couple days, he has been so silly, loud and crazy, and SO happy. It's hilarious. Whenever I put him down to sleep, he always rolls over to his back and just hangs out until he gets really tired. Then he fusses and I have to go and roll him back over to his tummy, since he can't do that yet. Whenever I play the piano or if there is music on where people are singing, he always tries to be louder than them and sings and yells super loud. He's got quite the personality already.
Alright, just wanted to record that little crawling incident, and looking forward to more of those soon. Yikes! :)

Today, Ty will be wearing a cute little church outfit, with a Dallas Cowboys onesie underneath to cheer em on for the BIG GAME today!! Go Cowboys!

(Also- Happy Birthday Johnny! Love ya.)

Ty is getting old.

My baby is 5 months old!
He is getting more fiesty too. He is a little stubborn boy. I just can't wait til he gets older. Yikes! So he was teething awhile ago, but now he is back to normal and there are still no teeth! I'm thinking the teeth went back in and aren't ready to pop out yet. That just prolongs the whole process, which I wish would just be over with. Maybe he'll get 4 teeth in at once - 2 top/2 bottom. That would be great. He has also stopped sucking on his gums and making weird faces, so they don't hurt him or bug him right now. But he still is slobbering like crazy. We'll see.

Yesterday I made some pretty darn good cookies. They're oatmeal creme pies. Ya know- like the store bought Little Debbie kind- but HOMEMADE. They're way better! And I've got way too many, so if anyone wants some, they better head on over quickly! Save me and my family from gaining 10 pounds... please.

Ty always has this inquisitive look on his face. He's just trying to figure out the meaning of life... My hub and I both agree that Ty thinks we are idiots and don't know half as much as he knows. That's why he looks at us like that... like "What are you guys doing?"
Gangsta... again.
This was his outfit for church on Sunday... bowtie and all. The bowtie is his daddy's when he was a wee one. Adorable.

Convo

So, some people like to record funny things that their children say to them. Well, I'm going to do that. No, I do not have a 5-month old prodigy who can speak already! It's something my dear husband said to me today.

me: "You didn't clean all the dishes last night. You said you would do them, but there is still a pan, baking sheet, bottles, and cutting board in the sink."
husband: "Well I started the dishwasher, and I was going to wait til that load was done, then I was going to put the rest in the washer after I unloaded it."
me: "Why didn't you just hand wash them. That's what it means to do the dishes... you have to do all of them, even if you have to hand wash."
husband: "I don't believe in hand-washing dishes. That's what a dishwasher is for!"
me: "Then what is dish soap for?"
husband: "It's to de-grease the pots and pans before you put them in the dishwasher."

We continued on to discuss the reason for dishwashing detergent and dish soap, and dragging out the process of doing the dishes over 2 days... I don't know. Call me crazy, but I think if you are asked to do the dishes, it should be all done that night; not drawn out over two days. Because then, more dishes are piling up on top of the old dishes from the day before. ANYWAY, it was pretty funny. I still LOVE you Pax.
I gotta run. Baby is waking up, and I've gotta hand-wash some dishes and bottles.

COLOR

The past several days we have been adding COLOR to our walls! Finally. It feels nice and cozy, and like a real, lived-in home now! We have our family room painted an olive-y green color. It's a darker color and I love it! We also re-arranged furniture so our family room is a LOT bigger now! It was a good move. We also have a little bar-type counter with an in-set wall and we've painted that another color which is called "Wool Tweed." It's kind of greenish goldish. Sounds kinda pukey, but it looks nice! I realized that I like dark, warm colors. When we were at Lowe's picking out colors, I was always going for the darker colors. I always wondered what my 'style' of decorating was, and I found out what it is while watching HGTV, one of my fave stations. I always watch that channel to get ideas for decorating and cool tips and stuff. Anyway, my style is "Transitional." It's not too traditional, and not too contemporary. I really do like the look of contemporary and modern, but I just don't end up buying those kinds of things whenever I go shopping for decor. Anyway, I'm glad I figured out what to call my style. I'll post some pics once I've gotten more decorations up.
Ty is an eating machine! One day he was satisfied eating 4 oz, and the next he wasn't satisfied til he ate a whopping 8 oz.! WHAT? How does he double his intake overnight? He is consistently eating about 6-7 oz/feeding now- give or take an ounce. He is also the Slobber King- awake or sleeping. He has always slobbered when he sleeps, but with teething, it's when he's awake too. He is rolling over from his tummy to his back a lot more now. He is also trying to get movin' too. He sticks his bum in the air, get his feet on the ground and shuffles while keeping his chest on the floor. He just needs to push up with those arms and he can be moving. Yikes! He's a-growin'!

Paxton likes to pile all of Ty's toys on him-- all the soft ones at least.
21 weeks today!
He looks like a rapper here. Gangsta!

Christmas time

We took Ty to see Santa Clause awhile ago. He sure loved him, and wasn't scared at all. What a sweetie.

We had a fun, relaxing, and WONDERFUL Christmas with Paxton's family. The tradition is to eat out at a Chinese restaurant Christmas Eve. We had reservations for this restaurant, but it had snowed 2+ inches and the roads were too icy to go too far, so we ended up going to Panda Express!! Very classy! We were laughing about going there, but it was actually really good! Before going out to eat, everyone gathered at our house to read the Christmas Nativity story, sing songs and drink some homemade egg nog. It was a fun time.

We stayed the night at Paxton's mom's house Christmas Eve so we could be there Christmas morning. Ty slept in til 8:30. What a sleepster! But he got lots of great gifts for his 1st CHRISTMAS! He's so spoiled. He was actually opening his presents, reaching for the paper and pulling, with a little assistance, but he was still doing it. He loved all the new toys and clothes he got! Thanks Yaya, Mr. Steve, and Aunt Heather! Oh and Santa too!

Cuddling with YaYa.
And here is the table and chair set we got ourselves for Christmas! We really needed this, since our old table was round and only seated 2! This seats 6 and can be made smaller to seat 4. It is counter height, so it's taller than the traditional dining room table. It fits perfectly in our kitchen.
We also got a new digital camera!! I'm super stoked. It's the one I've been wanting for awhile, and it just takes great pictures. Thanks Pax! I also got some perfume, new shoes, frames, and a few other things. Paxton got new shoes, various tools, nerf gun, and other things. Thank you Ann and Steve!
On Christmas Day we went and saw Sherlock Holmes!! We loved it! It was full of action and excitement. For me though, it was kind of hard to understand what they were saying. They spoke so quickly and with that accent, it was just hard to get all the words. BUT, I still loved it. Who doesn't love a movie with Robert Downey Jr AND Jude Law!!
We also had a great New Year's spent at a friend's house. We played games and chatted. We almost missed the countdown, we were having too much fun. Thanks Matt & Molly!
This holiday season has been really nice. Paxton had lots of work off, so we had lots of time to spend together, relax, and have fun. Unfortunately it must come to an end. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Teething

We are pretty darn sure Ty is teething right now. He is extra fussy for no reason, clingy, crying that sounds like he is in pain, and always making these faces.
It started out as this ...

and has turned into this. He does this face constantly.

I felt in his mouth to see if there's a teeth coming through, but I haven't felt anything. But he definitely showing the signs--- especially the drooling and chewing. This is how all his outfits look like by the end of the day.
But he's still our smiley, sweet, little Ty. (And he's looking a lot more like ME these days.)
