Teething

We are pretty darn sure Ty is teething right now. He is extra fussy for no reason, clingy, crying that sounds like he is in pain, and always making these faces.
It started out as this ...

and has turned into this. He does this face constantly.

I felt in his mouth to see if there's a teeth coming through, but I haven't felt anything. But he definitely showing the signs--- especially the drooling and chewing. This is how all his outfits look like by the end of the day.
But he's still our smiley, sweet, little Ty. (And he's looking a lot more like ME these days.)

Chillin'

Yup, that's what we're doing! It feels great!

4 month stats

We went to the Doc yesterday. Ty did great with his shots. He screamed initially, but immediately stopped crying once I picked him up. What a sweet boy he is.
Height: 26 " - 80%
Weight: 14.7 lbs - 45%
Head: 16 3/4 - 50%
The pedi gave permission to start feeding Ty solids, so I'll be trying to give him a little rice cereal for lunch today. I'm excited.

Newborn to 4 months

Look how Ty has grown!

He's not sure about this toy- nope he doesn't like it... yet!
He loves his Winnie the Pooh book. I gave it to him yesterday, so it was a new toy to him and he played with it the whole night. We went to a Stake Christmas program last night, and he wouldn't let it go. I had to take it away from him because it was too loud. He got mad at that, but we quickly gave him the paper program so he played and sucked on that. Don't worry, he didn't eat any paper.
This is just precious! Pax was singing to him.
As you can see, over the past 4 months he has grown so much, lost LOTS of hair, is able to hold his head up, can smile and laugh, has developed a stubborn personality, and just LAST NIGHT he rolled over from his tummy to his back. Of course it was accidental, but he did it twice. He is the sweetest baby and we just LOVE him so much! Already 4 months!

Growing!

A growth spurt's a comin' again I believe. He is fussier than normal and hungry more often. Since week 2 I have had to supplement with formula, and now I think he starting to prefer the bottle. The milk just comes faster and easier for him. He has been really ornery when my milk isn't coming as quickly as when he first starts eating. He starts screaming and jerking his head like he won't eat anymore from me, but only from a bottle. Darn kid.

When did Ty learn the 'Happy Baby' yoga pose?

Things that Ty likes right now are:
  • naps
  • baths
  • his pacifier
  • lying on his tummy and grabbing his feet
  • getting his diaper changed - he is ticklish at his inner thigh, so whenever I wipe him, he laughs.
  • sucking and chewing on anything he can get in his mouth, including his whole fist. He can almost get it all in!!
  • Mommy's voice
  • trying to hold onto toys and play with them
  • drooling and spitting up all over Mommy.
  • Daddy's tickling
  • kicking and waving his arms (pretty violently) while lying on the ground
  • going on short car rides. No more long ones please. He is a seasoned traveler, after last weekend's trip. He's been to Idaho, Utah, Tyler,TX, Crockett, TX, and now Natchitoches, LA
  • watching other babies and kids play
  • tummy time - only for about 5-10 minutes
  • talking and singing when no one is looking- or so he thinks. Whenever I play the piano or sometimes when the music is on in the car, he starts talking/singing. Then whenever I stop or the song ends, he stops too. That's why I think he's trying to sing. It's so cute.

We are nearly done with our Christmas shopping, and it feels good!! We have several small presents to get, and then one big purchase to make - and that is for ourselves. This year, our Christmas present to each other is a dining room table set. Now we've just gotta find one!
ONLY 17 DAYS LEFT TIL CHRISTMAS!

What's been goin on

Happy Thanksgiving! Yeah, a little late, I know. BUT I at least wanted to post this picture I snapped during our Thanksgiving trip to east Texas at Paxton's Gramp's home. There's 4 generations right there! Isn't that sweet!
We had a great time in Crockett visiting family and eating really good food! That was my SECOND Thanksgiving dinner, but it was still delicious. Thanks Rita!

Here's my sweet Ty smiling big!
And concentrating hard on the vacuum Dad was pushing around.
His poor hair is falling out! This pic was taken a week and a half ago, and he's lost even more! BUT, that section in the back is still goin' strong!
Ty is now 16 weeks, and getting bigger and louder! I think he may be teething.. not really sure though. Anyway, it's his feeding time RIGHT NOW, so I gotta go.
p.s. I decorated our new fake tree we bought yesterday. I strung all the lights, got tons of decorations today, and put em all on there. It's a beauty. I love the Christmas holiday.

Idaho/Utah trip

Look at that tongue
I was in Idaho & Utah for two weeks visiting family awhile ago. I got back last week... anyway, Ty enjoyed being spoiled and getting attention 24/7 while we were there. I got tons of adorable pictures and a few great videos of the fam entertaining him. Here's a super cute video with Leslie making him laugh.
I had a great time with the family. It was so fun to show off baby Ty while he is still young. If I hadn't gone then, I wouldn't have seen the family til next summer.

Look at the face Ty is giving Mikayla... haha.
tummy time at Grandma's

Ty fell asleep in Leslie's arms...
and in Katie's arms.
All the nephews & nieces loved Ty to pieces.
Travis & Andrew reading Ty a book. Garfield is pretty entertaining apparently...
little Luke
Grandma & Grandpa Myers
chillin' at Leslie & Justin's house
The night before I left, I met up with a few college friends!! It was so good to visit and catch up. Angie is due at the end of December with her 2nd baby and first girl. They're naming her Miriam... so cute. And Jamie is pregnant with her first!!! Congrats Jamie!
I had a great time! Ty was a good little traveler. He is such a good, easy baby. So sweet. When we got home, Ty had some major jet lag I think, because he crashed. He slept tons. It took a couple days to adjust back to the Dallas time zone, but we are back to normal now. We missed home and Paxton and a routine. It's good to be home.

3-month growth spurt

Ty is 3 months next week, and he's already starting his growth spurt. I thought I was doing good when he was sleeping 7 hours at night, taking good long naps, and eating well. Well, it's all out the window now. Ty is fussy and crying a lot more, I am fussy and crying a lot more.. It's just a great ol' time here at the Hobson household. "They" say growth spurts last about 2-3 days. I'm hoping today is the last day! Please Oh Please!
